ETIM International has worked closely with FEST, the European Federation of the Sanitary and Heating Wholesale Trade, on creating a tool called the Smart ETIM Classifier, to help ease the onboarding of the ETIM standard for manufacturers in the HVAC and Plumbing sector.

The Smart ETIM classifier tool is a machine learning tool that helps convert existing manufacturer product data to ETIM classified data. It predicts the proper ETIM class using the product description as input and can also convert manufacturer own technical specifications to ETIM features and values. At this moment the tool is only trained in English for products in the HVAC and Plumbing sector, local languages can be added on request.

We are now at the stage of wanting to test the tool through the input of more catalogue data in order to improve its accuracy and effectiveness.
